Donna Desmond, President of Donna
Desmond Associates, has specialized in business valuation since
1986. She has completed hundreds of appraisal assignments for both
public agencies and private parties throughout the states of
California, Arizona and Nevada. Ms. Desmond has qualified
as an expert in business valuation in California Superior Court in
Los Angeles, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Orange, San Diego, Kern
and Contra Costa counties, Nevada Superior Court and has testified
extensively in arbitration and mediation throughout California.
Ms. Desmond has extensive experience in the valuation of
damages related to breach of contract, condemnation, fraud and
business interruption. The firm has valued businesses and related
assets within most industrial sectors, with an emphasis on
manufacturing, service and retail industries. Further, the
firm specializes in the valuation of outdoor advertising companies
and related assets.
Ms. Desmond is a senior member of the American Society of
Appraisers, Business Valuation discipline. She is also a member of
the Institute of Business Appraisers and International Right of Way
Association. Ms. Desmond
has written articles on business valuation and
damage estimation. She is also a contributing author to the
Handbook of Small Business Valuation Formulas, published in 1987
and revised in 1988. Ms. Desmond regularly gives seminars
to public agencies, attorney groups, and appraisal organizations
on various business valuation topics. Ms. Desmond
graduated with a bachelor’s degree from UCLA in 1986 and continues
to attend professional education courses in appraisal, finance and
